Halloween 2007!

We had fun filled Halloween week! We went to the pumpkin patch (twice), went to a pumpkin carving party, went trick or treating at Santana Row, went to Fallapalooza at our church, and answered the door for Trick or Treaters at home. Tobias loved all of it! Kiernan dressed up as a lion and Tobias was a monkey.

The day before Halloween I took the boys trick or treating at Santana Row where they all kind of kid activities going on.

I took the boys to a pumpkin patch in Sunnyvale with a giant slide, bouncy house, and bouncy pirate ship. T loved that. He didn't care so much about the pumpkins though :)

Amuse Bouche

The theme for our Foodie Club this month was Amuse Bouche, which means "that which amuses the mouth". Basically they are very small portions(just a few bites) that artfully combine wonderful flavors and beautiful presentation. So each of us made a course and it all turned out absolutely amazing! We should start a restaurant :)

this one, to the left, was coconut rice pudding layered with caramelized bananas and garnished with candied coconut and pineapple.



This was a Chocolate Semi freddo served on bergamont chocolate paint and a stripe of gold syrup(made with real gold flecks) ,with a peppery sugar wafer on top and an orange slice marinated in anise and vanilla.








This is a baked Aaple and white chocolate mousse Millefeuille with an almond sauce on top.













This was tuna tare tare with avacado and sesame seeds in a wonderful asian flavored sauce that I don't know the name of.














This is an eggplant, zucchini, and goat cheese Millefeuille.

This is stuffed portk tenderloin served on an apple salad.

Colorado Trip

This month just Kiernan and I got to go visit our dear friends, the Colwills, who recently moved to Colorado in the Denver area. It was so fun to see them and to see the beautiful and fun area they now live in.

One afternoon there was an awesome double rainbow in full view from their street!









This was Kiernan's first time in the pool! The Colwills' neighborhood has a bunch of really nice community pools so we visited one them.

SF Zoo

A few weeks ago, Tobias, Kiernan, my mom, my brother and my cousins, Dani and Drew, and I went to the San Francisco zoo. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures since we had to spend a lot of time fighting crowds and herding Tobias, but we had a good time and saw some cool animals.






















So Tobias was a little overwhelmed by the crowds at first and was a little tired and hungry so he wasn't in the greatest mood. This was his response when we teasingly asked him "Tobias, are you so happy right now?"

Beach Trip

We finally made it over to the beach this summer! We live close enough to the beach that it would be shame not to go there at least once this summer. So with the help of my wonderful mom, we made the trip!

This is a picture of Tobias after he had his romp in the water. He got totally soaked, including his sweatshirt so I put mine on him. He looked like a little Ewok :)




Here's Kiernan in his little tent. The tent was so great to have because it kept him and some of our stuff out of the sun, wind, and sand. I don't know what we would have done without it!
